A guide to choosing the best bridal lipstick for your Wedding day!

Hi there! Happy National Lipstick Day! I have to say, lipstick is probably one of my favorite makeup items. I wear it nearly everyday. Since it is national lipstick day, what better time to share my all time favs for Brides!

First and foremost, let me remind ya'll again that your makeup will only look as good as the skin underneath it! Do not neglect your lips when you're prepping your skin for your wedding day. I recommend all my Brides to exfoliate their lips often in the week or two leading up to their Wedding day. Always follow your exfoliant with a nourishing lip balm! (avoid waxy "chapsticks" - these don't really get the job done). And as always! DRINK WATER! ALOT OF IT!

To exfoliate, you can pick up a lip scrub at a local beauty store or even a drug store, but I prefer to make mine at home! Any sugar and oil will work just perfect. (I like to use brown sugar and olive oil). After exfoliating, I love to use Dr. PawPaw original balm drpawpaw.com $6.95. Another product I love to use on the lips is Egyptian Magic Multi-purpose Cream egyptianmagic.com $26. Both of these products are created using less than 10 naturally derived ingredients! The Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Sephora $26 is another really great lip product, and it comes tinted in a few different shades!

Moving on - once your lips are prepped its time to decide what type of lip product you want to use. There are the long wearing liquid lipsticks, traditional cream lipsticks, lip glosses, or tinted lip balms.

I typically reach for long lasting liquid lipsticks with my Brides, because well.. they last throughout the day without having to reapply often. Here are my go to Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Sephora $22

The most popular shades I use are Patina (dusty rose), Caramello (neutral nude), Baci (nude pink), Firenze (warm dusty rose), and Dolce (nude cinnamon sheen).

The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matte Hughes thebalm.com $17

The most popular shades I reach for are Charming (deep rose), Trustworthy (brown nude), Sincere (soft warm pink), and Committed (coral pink).

Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Ulta Beauty $7.00

The most popular shades I use are Soft Spoken (dusty rose), Sandstorm (neutral nude), and Tea & Cookies (soft pink).

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Sephora $20

Lolita is my go to shade.

When a Bride requests a traditional cream style lipstick, I always reach for my Anastasia Beverly Hills Professional Lip Palette, and I typically hand mix a shade for each client. This product has a great satin finish, meaning its not completely matte, but it also doesn't have a shine to it. If a client requests a bit of a sheen, I add a gloss on top. This lipstick is pretty long lasting, but I always give my Brides a touch up to take with them!

If a client requests a tinted balm, I typically reach for either Burts Bees tinted lip balms/Lip Shimmer Ulta Beauty $5.49, or the Bite Beauty Tinted Agave Lip Masks Sephora $26.

Here's my favorite glosses for Brides:

Nyx Butter Gloss Ulta Beauty $5

My go to shades are Creme Brûlée, Tiramisu, Strawberry Cheesecake, and angel food cake.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Sephora $18

Glossier Clear Lip Gloss Glossier.com $14
