10 Step Everyday Beauty Routine

Happy Wednesday! Here’s a glimpse into my 10 step everyday makeup routine - simple, yet polished.

Step 1: Skin Prep.

I always cleanse at night using a cleansing oil. This takes off every speck of makeup while also hydrating my skin. I use Sonia roselli’s japanese cleansing oil. You can purchase it here: http://www.soniaroselli.com?p=SyNA6u9FN

Because I cleanse thoroughly at night, I only splash my face with water in the morning! I follow my splash of water with my Sonia Roselli water elixir, which is packed with rose water and ceramides that help to repair my damage skin barrier while also adding an extra burst of hydration. I follow this with my waterbalm which seals in the moisture and prepares my skin for makeup.

Step 2: Brows.

While I allow my skin prep to sink into my face, I fill in my brows. Sometimes I use a powder, sometimes I use a micro pencil. I love to use Senna’s brow products. Anastasia Beverly Hills also makes some nice brow products. I top this off with a swipe of my Benefit Brow gel to set them in place.

Step 3: Concealer.

Once my brows are done, my skin is ready to receive makeup. I currently use the Too Faced multi use concealer. I apply a dot under each eye, and if I have any super noticeable blemishes I will spot conceal them. I like to use a small fluffy brush to buff the product under my eyes.

Step 4: Foundation.

I currently use the IT Cosmetics CC cream. I love how glowy it looks on my skin and it provides me with just enough coverage for everyday wear without looking like a full coverage foundation. This product is also acne approved so it doesn’t break me out even though I wear it everyday. I like to squirt a dot on a flat top kabuki brush, dot it on each cheek, my chin, nose and forehead, and then blend starting in the center of my face and working my way out.

Step 5: Setting Powder.

For everyday wear, I use the Make Up For Ever HD transluscent setting powder. I like this formula because it is super finely milled. And it does a great job filling in fine lines and large pores.

Step 6: Bronzer.

I always use Benefit’s Hoola bronzer. It gives my face just enough warmth and brings back the dimension. I like to apply in directly under my cheek bones starting at my ear and blending down about halfway. I also apply it around my forehead and temples, sometimes under my chin/jawline, and occasionally I’ll sweep my nose.

Step 7: Blush.

I almost always add blush to my everyday routine because it gives my face so much life. I like to use a cream blush because it looks like I’m naturally flush and keeps my skin glowy. I love the Senna cream blushes stippled onto the apples of my cheeks. If I use a powder blush i typically reach for the Tarte Amazonian clay Blushes.

Step 8: Highlight.

I love to use a highlighter everyday. It gives my skin such a healthy glow. I go between the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl, or the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector powders. I use a fan brush and lightly sweep the powder on the highest point of my cheek bones, down the center of my nose (avoiding bringing it down to the tip, im not Rudolph), above my brows, and onto my Cupid’s bow. If I have extra time I’ll grab a shadow brush and add a little to my brow bone, and the inner corner of my eyes.

Step 9: Mascara.

Most often than not, the only thing I regularly use on my eyes is mascara. I love to use Benefit’s Rollerlash. This mascara lengthens and volumizes my lashes, giving my eyes just enough definition for everyday wear.

Step 10: Lips.

I wear lipstick almost everyday. Usually, it’s a neutral shade, or a pink that resembles the shade of my natural lip. Three of my most common everyday lipsticks are the Balm meet matte Hughes liquid lipstick in sincere, Nyx liquid suede in sandstorm or Stila stay all day liquid lipstick in Patina.

That’s it! 10 steps, which I’ve perfected into a quick 12 minute daily routine! Of course, if I’m short on time ill skip some of the steps, or if I have extra time I may throw on some liner, but 95% of the time, this is the Katy you’re looking at!
